A New Heart

Have you ever reflected upon how incredibly vast our universe is?

If you haven't, then consider this:

Our solar system is situated in a galaxy known as the Milky Way,
And our sun is merely one of approximately two hundred billion stars

That populate this galaxy.

This galaxy is so immense that if it were reduced in size one trillion times,
Then the sun,
Which is so massive that it could contain over one million planets the size of our earth,
Would be merely the size of a pinhead.

And yet,
Even with a reduction of this magnitude,
our galaxy would still be six hundred thousand miles in diameter.

* * *

Now as amazing as all of this is, consider this:
Our galaxy is merely one of billions of other galaxies in the universe.
This seems almost too incredible to be true, but it is.
Each of these galaxies is a complete stellar system in itself –

Just like our own Milky Way galaxy.
Each contains millions or even billions of stars,
And most are so far away that light,
Which travels almost 200,000 miles in one second,
Would require millions or even billions of years to reach them.

Now I ask you, reader,

How can finite beings like us even begin to comprehend a universe of such vast proportions?

Clearly, we cannot.

We can only stand back in wonder and awe
As we contemplate the almost unbelievable creative power
That brought all of this into existence.

 Now please consider one final truth:
The Bible teaches quite plainly
That the creative power that brought this entire universe into existence
“Became flesh and dwelt among us.”
(John 1:14)

Please reflect upon this.

Reflect upon the fact that the incredible power that created this vast universe
Actually became a man and lived a humble life on this earth.

Then, as you seek to know more of this power,
Please understand that the Bible states that It is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ –
The very Person Who is pictured below.

  * * *

  The mighty Lord Jesus has power – not only to create this vast universe –
But also to create in you a new heart.

  * * *

Will you let Him?

  "Create in me a clean heart, O God;
And renew a right spirit within me"

(Psalm 51:10)

 * * *

 He did it for me.
He can do it for you.
